About the Author Dr. Sunil Kumar received his Master’s degree in Biotechnology from the Devi Ahilya University, India in 2006 and his PhD in Biotechnology from Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences, India in 2011. He is currently an Associate Professor at the Shri Ramswaroop Memorial University, India. His research interests include genetic engineering, molecular biology and medical microbiology particularly focused on molecular characterization of bacterial biofilm and drug development. Dr. Kumar has authored over 40 peer-reviewed articles, eight book chapters and has edited one book. His works have been published in several leading journals. Dr. Kumar serves as an editorial board member and reviewer of more than six international journals including the International Journal of Microbiology Research, Current Biotechnology, Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Allergy Agents in Medicinal Chemistry, The Natural Products Journal, and Current Molecular Pharmacology. Dr. Muhammad Zaffar Hashmi is Assistant Professor of Environmental Engineering in the Department of Chemistry, COMSATS University, Pakistan. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology from Zhejiang University, China. Dr. Hashmi’s research interests are analytical chemistry and the development of treatment technologies to control environmental and industrial pollution. He also has expertise in developing environmentally sustainable and feasible technologies including bioremediation, using innovative microbes and genes, plants, and microcosms. He has edited seven books, 14 book chapters, 80 original research articles and is currently series editor of two environmental contaminant book series.
