Description

As a fast emerging and growing class of magnetic materials, ferrites have generated an increasing amount of interest for providing specific magnetic properties through controlled mixture in composites. The study of magnetic ferrite nanocomposites requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving novel synthesis techniques and an understanding of solid-state physics, electronic engineering, and material science. Magnetic Ferrites and Related Nanocomposites covers recent trends of various types of ferrite nanocomposites, evaluating the mechanisms for interpreting static and dynamic magnetic properties. Sections cover fundamentals of magnetism and introducing different kinds of ferrites, industrial related applications, magneto-electric ferrite nanocomposites, exchange spring ferrite nanocomposites, shielding effectiveness and microwave absorption characteristics of ferrite-carbon materials nanocompsoite, photocatalytic application of ferrite nanocomposites and novel synthesis techniques for fabricating ferrite in nanoparticles, bulks, thin films, and nanofiber configuration. This book is an important reference for scientists, graduate students, researchers, and practitioners to broaden their understanding of the nature of ferrite nanocomposites and their impact on modern technology. Review Provides a detailed overview on the synthesis, characterization, properties and selected applications of ferrites and ferrite-based nanocomposites From the Back Cover
Nanoscale ferrites have generated an increasing amount of interest due to the modification that they can induce when they are dispersed into the matrix of a composite. The study of magnetic ferrite nanocomposites requires a multidisciplinary approach, involving novel synthesis techniques and an understanding of physics and surface science. In some cases, high-level loss may be desired in applications such as heating and EM wave absorption. In most applications, such as power transformers and DC-DC converters, low-level loss is required to achieve a non-dispersive (frequency-independent) permeability spectrum with a high value. In this context, we find an increasing use of ferrite magnetic composite materials in these applications.

Magnetic Ferrites and related Nanocomposites covers recent trends of various types of ferrite nanocomposites, evaluating the correlation between structural features and magnetic analysis. Magnetic ferrite nanocomposite materials are generally composed of ferromagnetic particles (grain size in nanometer scale), distributed either in a non-magnetic or magnetic matrix. Ferrite nanocomposites are being developed to provide materials with enhanced magnetic properties (suitable relative permeability and magnetic saturation), with tunable electrical resistivity and permittivity.

This book is an important reference source for materials scientists looking to gain an understanding of the nature of ferrite nanocomposites and their impact on modern technology.
About the Author Ali Ghasemi is a Full Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering, at Malek Ashtar University of Technology, Iran. He received his postdoctoral degree from the Japan Society for Promotion of Science (JSPS). He specializes in magnetic ferrites, nano-magnetism and microwave magnets. He has published over 350 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and 5 books in the field of magnetic materials. Professor Ghasemi serves as a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the Journal of Magnetism and Magnetic Materials and is Associate Editor of the Journal of Superconductivity and Novel Magnetism.
