He has been awarded more than $2.5M funding from various agencies, including the NSF and U.S. Department of Transportation, and has authored four books, several book chapters, and many journal articles. He is actively involved with various professional societies including the Transportation Research Board (TRB), Material Handling Institute (MHI), and Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE). He also served as the editor-in-chief of International Journal of Logistics Transportation Research and as an editor of Transportation Research Record.
