Text in Italian. Krates, one of the great poets from the first generation of ancient comedy poets, has already been assigned a key role in the history of comedy in Aristotle's poetics. But tradition didn't mean well with him. His work is only sparsely preserved. Almost half a century after the last monograph on Krates, Serena Perrone offers a new comprehensive analysis of his work. The Italian translation and annotation of the 60 fragments received made a significant contribution to expanding the image of the crate in research with numerous new findings. About the Author Dr Serena Perrone is Professor of Classical Philology at the University of Genoa, Italy.
