The IV Latin American Congress on Biomedical Engineering, CLAIB2007, corresponds to the triennial congress for the Regional Bioengineering Council for Latin America (CORAL), it is supported by the International Federation for Medical and Biological Engineering (IFMBE) and the Engineering in Medicine, Biology Society (IEEE-EMBS). This time the Venezuela Society of Bioengineering (SOVEB) organized the conference, with the slogan Bioengineering solution for Latin America health. The meeting was held in the Hesperia Hotel, located in Margarita Island, Venezuela, on September 26th-28th, 2007. A total of 381 papers were submitted for arbitration, and 317 were accepted. El IV Congreso Latinoamericano de Ingeniería Biomédica, CLAIB2007, corresponde a la conferencia trianual del Consejo Regional de Ingeniería Biomédica para América Latina (CORAL), y es apoyada por la Federación Internacional para la Ingeniería Médica y Biológica (IFMBE) y, la Sociedad para la Ingeniería en Biología y Medicina (IEEE-EMBS). En esta oportunidad la Sociedad Venezolana de Bioingeniería (SOVEB) organizó la conferencia, bajo el lema Soluciones de Bioingeniería para la salud en Latina. El evento se realizó en el Hotel Hesperia, localizado en la Isla de Margarita, Venezuela, 26 al 28 de Septiembre de 2007. Un total de 381 artículos fueron recibidos para ser arbitrados y 317 fueron aceptados.
